Well, what can I say about October 2018? To be honest, it was a super interesting month! Actually, kind of an exciting month because I let go of one low-paying gig (News Editor at 21Ninety) and instead embraced a new high-paying gig (regular contributor at Simplemost/The Delite). It’s an exciting journey and I am curious about what all of this will bring.
And, the MOST exciting news… I can finally share that I have been working with The Temper! They are a brand new site devoted to covering addiction, sobriety and recovery (from anything) with an unapologetically intersectional feminist approach. So, basically, describes me to a T. They launched earlier this month and my first two stories for them are up! I am incredibly proud of these, one on my recovery as a Latina and another about giving up meat for my husband (who gave up alcohol for me), so please do read.
How much I made: $6392
Money wise, this was my best month of the year! The only other month that I made over $6k was July, when I wrote a bunch of op-eds about Demi Lovato’s relapse, so it was exciting to see these numbers. No doubt it is because of my last week at 21Ninety, my new work at Simplemost/The Delite and my continued work with FIERCE by mitú. If I keep going down this road, I might actually make my financial goals for the year!
