I completed my holistic health counsel training at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, where I learned over 100 different dietary theories from world-class experts such as Deepak Chopra, Andrea Beaman, Andrew Weil, Annemarie Colbin and more.
Through the school, I focused on bio-individuality. It is the core philosophy that because our bodies are all different, no one diet will fit everyone. It is an individual approach to living a healthy lifestyle that focuses on our “primary foods”, meaning the things that feed our souls and happiness instead of just our stomachs.
I also focused on deconstructing cravings (what does that need for a brownie really mean?), the “crowding out” theory (it’s not about avoiding the foods you love, it’s about learning to love new, healthier foods) and emotional eating.
Plus, what kind of food should we be choosing? Organic? Local? Seasonal? Coupled with my interest in food, I received a top-notch nutritional education.
